OK guys- here's your chance to solve a mystery that everyone's talking about.  George Clarke, a filmmaker from Belfast, Ireland, noticed a strange clip in bonus footage from the 1928 Charlie Chaplin film, The Circus. 
 

"Time Traveler"?

 

It appears that a woman is talking on a cell phone walking next to a zebra.  Now, considering the fact that this technology didn't exist in 1928, George Clarke has a rather far-out explanation: the person is a time traveler that no one caught until now. 

I would like to believe it's possible that humans will be able to travel through time in the future (gosh darnit I love my Star Trek!) but let's take a look at other explanations.

It's very possible the woman is using a type of hearing aid available at the time- either a bell hearing aid or mechanical one like the Siemen's Carbon Amplifier.

Putting aside the obvious marketing pitch of the this movie maker at the
start of his piece, there must be a reasonable explanation for the
“woman’s” activity. (It does look a like a man with a fake nose to me.)
I imagine she could be using a hearing aid device. She could also
simply be holding down her hat or lifting her collar. She could have
been talking to someone off-screen, like the man in front of her. She
could have been talking to herself. She could be crazy. She could have
known that there were cameras out there filming and was trying to block
her face from public exposure. She could have been yawning when the
camera caught her, giving the impression that she was talking. She could
have cleaning the wax out of her ears. She could have been blocking her
ears from a loud noise (construction, sirens, etc.) In other words, I
seriously doubt she was a time-traveling, cell phone using person from
the future.
